Jeffrey Carpenter presents at technology conference

The assistant professor of education presented on digital backchanneling at the North Carolina Technology in Education Society Annual Conference in Raleigh, N.C., on March 6.

Assistant Professor Jeffrey Carpenter and colleague Ira Smith of the Watauga County Schools gave an interactive presentation titled “Embracing the Backchannel” to an audience of K-12 educators at the NCTIES 2015 conference.

The presentation provided attendees an opportunity to learn about digital backchanneling through hands-on use of three backchanneling tools: Todaysmeet.com, Backchannelchat.com, and Google Moderator. NCTIES attracts more than 2,000 attendees each year.
