Eighteen teams battled to stay afloat March 13 in Beck Pool.
Campus Recreation held its 2 annual Battleship this past Friday, March 13. Eighteen teams battled in Beck Pool to keep their ships afloat, but winning team U.S.S. Frances was the only one to truly succeed.
Each team of three was given two buckets and one shield. During the three 20-minute heats, two members of each of the six teams threw water using the buckets, while one team member was designated to protect the canoe with the team’s shield.
The last two canoes to stay afloat during each heat made it to the finals.
The first-place team, U.S.S. Frances, won $15 to C&R Ski Outdoor, located near Fat Frogg on W. Haggard Avenue. The second-place team, Andrew Van Hoof, won $10 to C&R Ski Outdoor, and the third-place team, Cancel Christmas, won $5 to C&R Ski Outdoor.
