Elon Cheerleading and Dance Team will hold 2015-2016 tryouts on April 24 -25.
The Elon University cheer and dance teams will hold tryouts for the 2015-16 teams during New Student Orientation weekend from April 24-25.
Any current Elon student, as well as any incoming freshman, is eligible to tryout.
Those interested in trying out for the cheerleading squad or to be the mascot should contact coach Lauren Van Fleet at lvanfleet@elon.edu with a subject of TRYOUTS. Those wishing to try out for the dance team should contact coach Megan Smith at msmith102@elon.edu with a subject of TRYOUTS.
The tryout will last two days. Day one will be to learn material and the second day will be a performance of the material.
The tryout schedule is as follows:
Friday, April 24 – Learn choreography/material (6-9 p.m.) – Location: McFarland Gym (South Campus)
Saturday, April 25 – Audition (2-4 p.m.) – Location: McFarland Gym (South Campus)
Cheer Attire: Those trying out for the cheer team should wear school colors – a t-shirt, tank or sports bra, shorts and cheer shoes. You will need to be “game ready” on Saturday with full make-up and hair half up with a ribbon or bow.
Dance Attire: Those trying out for the dance team should wear jazz or bike shorts with a form-fitting top or sports bra and jazz shoes.
Mascot Attire: Those trying out for mascot should wear athletic shorts and top and sneakers with socks.
