Dr. Adam Kaplin will present current research and treatments under development by Project RESTORE, a multidisciplinary project established at Johns Hopkins Hospital to advance our understanding and treatment of neurological disease, specifically Multiple Sclerosis and Transverse Myelitis. Prior to Kaplin’s presentation, Little Phoenix coach Craig Edwards will speak briefly about his recent struggle with neurological disease.

This will be a great opportunity for students and faculty alike to hear from a researcher and clinician on the forefront of neurological disease research and to hear what strides are being made in the treatment of MS and TM, as well as to hear Edwards’s difficult but inspiring story. Kaplin will be available beforehand during a brief reception to discuss how Elon students can get involved with the project and possible internship opportunities that may be available.
