Are you a current student who needs to take the language placement exam?

A proctor will be available in Carlton 221 during certain hours on Saturday and Sunday, April 18 & 19.

Students – Did you fail to take a language placement test by Oct. 1 of your first year at Elon? You MUST have a placement score on record. Permission to enter language class will only be granted to those who have such a score on file. We need a score on file even if you choose to begin study of a new language.

The Language Media Center (Carlton 221) will be open this weekend according to the following hours so that students can take the language placement test in French, German, Italian, Latin and Spanish.

                Saturday, 4/18   1-4 p.m.

                Sunday, 4/19      3-6 p.m.

Please use the fountain entrance for entering Carlton. If the door is locked, use your Phoenix Card.

REQUIREMENTS AND NOTES:

  • You must have your Phoenix card with you.
  • Allow approximately 45 minutes to take the exam.
  • The exam is for placement purposes only. You will not be able to place out of the requirement through your score because of the university policy that limits that option to the Oct. 1 deadline.
  • The exam will be proctored by a faculty member who will also provide advice, guidance and permission-to-enroll forms for fall semester language courses based on your score.
