Brendan Westlund '01 nominated for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 'Man of the Year'

The Lukemia & Lymphoma Society nominated Brendan Westlund '01 for Man of the Year, launching a 10-week fundraising campaign to raise $100,000.

Brendan Westlund, a member of the class of 2001 and longtime flag football coach for the Elon Washington, D.C. Alumni Chapter, began a 10-week fundraising effort on April 2 in partnership with the Lukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Nominated for Man of the Year, he has set a goal to raise $100,000 by June 13.

The Man & Woman of the Year campaign by LLS is a fundraising competition nationwide that brings teams together to compete for the title of Man or Woman of the Year. The titles are awarded to the man and woman in each community who raises the most funds during the designated 10-week period. Funds raised are for LLS blood cancer research in honor of local children who are blood cancer survivors.
