Based on the true story of the sudden death of a star North Carolina high school quarterback, Find A Way was released nationwide in August.

Cornelius Muller ’93 has a passion for inspirational storytelling. His first independent film, Brother’s Keeper, was based on a true story from his personal life. His latest film is also personal, and distributors across the country are taking notice.
The feature-length film, Find A Way, is based on the sudden death of Harry Cohen, a star quarterback at Walter Williams High School in Burlington, N.C., in 2012. The movie was recently acquired by Warner Word Entertainment and is now available through multiple streaming services, including Amazon Instant Video, iTunes and Google Play among others. It is also for sale at LifeWay Christian and Walmart stores across the country.
Muller had mentored Cohen through his personal training company, Xplosion, which is also located in Burlington. He already had a script for the movie when Cohen died unexpectedly. That’s when he decided to change his original script and incorporate the young man’s story. The movie fictionalizes a character based on Cohen, and deals with the effects that his death had on his loved ones. Laced with subtle Christian themes, the movie was directed by actor Burgess Jenkins, who appears in the Lifetime series Army Wives as well as the ABC series Nashville. Muller himself executive produced the film.
Much of the movie was filmed on Elon’s campus. Muller enlisted the help of multiple film students and alumni, including Peyton Lea ’10, who served as director of photography and editor of the film. Students also came out to film a football game scene at Rhodes Stadium, which is a pivotal part of the movie.
With the film now available nationwide, Muller has his sights set on more projects. He hopes to be able to make a film per year going forward. His next film, Sacred Kind of Love, is currently in post-production and features more Elon students in the cast and crew.
Muller hopes that Find A Way will inspire all those who watch it. “You can survive several days without water, about a month without food, but you can’t survive a day without hope,” he said.
