Meet Elon's Newest Employees

Adrian Carpenter, Coordinator of Annual Giving

Adrian Carpenter is from Richmond, Va. He received his bachelor’s degree from James Madison University. In his free time, Adrian enjoys playing sports and discovering new music. He says: “It is amazing to see how much the university has grown over the last couple of years, and I love the idea of joining in and playing an integral role in Elon’s contained success.”

Manoj Chari, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Management

Manoj Chari received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and currently works for SAS Institute. Elon was appealing to him because of the quality of the students in the program.

Emily Cripe, Adjunct Instructor in Sport and Event Management

Emily Cripe is from St. Paul, Minn. She received her bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University and her doctorate from the University of St. Thomas. She previously worked for the University of St. Thomas. Emily is married to husband Dustin. In her free time, she enjoys soccer, running and adventuring.

Lesley Henry, Director of Education Outreach and Instructor in Education

Lesley Henry is from Burlington, N.C. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was previously a teacher in the Alamance-Burlington School System. She is married to husband Patrick, and they have three children and one dog. Lesley says: “I grew up in Alamance County, and my family has always supported Elon University. I am excited to be a part of the Elon family.”

Baris Kesgin, Assistant Professor of Political Science

Baris Kesgin is from Canakkale, Turkey. He received his Ph.D. in political science from Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania. Baris said that Elon’s leadership in student success and engagement made it attractive to him.

Khristin Landry, Visiting Assistant Professor

Khristin Landry is from Pueblo, Colo. She previously worked for the University of Colorado. In her free time, she enjoys running and spending time with her cats.

Selina Moore, Program Assistant

Selina Moore is from Sevierville, Tenn. She previously worked for Randolph Community College as a development specialist. Selina has one son. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing and hiking. 

Connie R. Rea, Adjunct Instructor in Dance

Connie R. Rea is from Alberta, Va. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She previously worked at Western Alamance High School and owned Center Stage on Main in Gibsonville. Connie and husband Michael have two daughters and two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, choreographing and babysitting her grandsons.

Christopher Sellars, Bus Driver

Christopher Sellars is from Grensboro, N.C. He has four children and is excited for the career building opportunity Elon is providing him.

Amanda Watson, Adjunct Instructor in Chemistry

Amanda Watson is from Greensboro, NC. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and previously worked for EN-CAS Analytical Laboratories. She and husband Matt have two dogs and enjoy cooking and playing board games.

Elon’s Newest Arrivals

Amy Chandler, operations/budget accountant, and Justin Chandler, electrical mechanic, welcomed their daughter, Madelynn Ruth (Maddie), on Aug. 23. Maddie joins big brother Benjamin.
