Six Physical Therapy alumni recognized as board-certified clinical specialists at the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting

The alumni were recognized at the association's meeting in San Antonio, Texas.

Six Elon Doctor of Physical Therapy program alumni — Michelle Gorman ’09, GCS; Kristen Brown ‘06, NCS; Emily Parker ’08, NCS; Colin McGowan ’12, OCS; John Autry ’13, OCS; and Chris Backus ’12, OCS — were each recognized as board-certified clinical specialists at the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting in San Antoinio, TX.

Board-certified clinical specialists have demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skills in physical therapy specialty areas. The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties offers board certification in eight specialty areas of physical therapy: Cardiovascular and Pulmonary (CCS), Clinical Electrophysiology (ECS), Geriatrics (GCS), Neurology (NCS), Orthopaedics (OCS), Pediatrics (PCS), Sports (SCS) and Women’s Health (WCS).
