Pardo weighs-in on safe teaching practices for article in Dance Teacher magazine

Matt Pardo, assistant professor in the Department of Performing Arts, recently offered his expertise for an article in Dance Teacher magazine, an international publication dedicated to pedagogical practice in dance.

The article written by Ellie Kusner appears in the September 2017 issue and is titled “7 Self-Care Strategies to protect yourself while teaching.” It explores specific methodologies for self-care while teaching dance.

Pardo was interviewed for this article to shed light on how to protect the voice while teaching in a loud and crowded dance studio.  His interview focused on integrating his classical vocal training into dance pedagogy so that teachers can protect their voices while teaching for long durations.

The article was featured online and appears in the September print edition.
