Personalized alumni bricks are now Under the Oaks

Alumni donors can now see the bricks that honor their support Under the Oaks and on a new website.

Alumni who participated in the “Brick by Brick” campaign can now view the personalized bricks on campus Under the Oaks and online through a new brick information website.

The online brick directory gives the location, inscription and donor names associated with the 2017 “Brick by Brick” and 2013 “Pave the Way” efforts. Information about bricks in front of the Moseley Center will soon be added to the site as well.

The bricks were installed Under the Oaks in time for Homecoming 2017, and Elon staff members were on hand in the area to assist alumni as they looked for specific bricks. One such alum was brick donor Michael Dufour ’16.

“Elon and the Marth and Spencer Love School of Business gave me the four greatest years of my life,” says Dufour, who drove from Baltimore to enjoy Homecoming weekend with friends. “To be able to give back and help others learn as much as I did is an honor.”

“Brick by Brick” was an opportunity for alumni to leave their mark on campus while investing in a world-class educational experience by setting up recurring gifts to Elon. The historic Under the Oaks location serves as a meaningful reminder of the past and future of the university. With the area continuing to be a hub of campus activity, each new generation of Elon students will see the support and pride alumni have for their education.

“Elon provides a transformative experience for students through its curriculum and programs,” says John H. Barnhill ’92, assistant vice president for university advancement. “Our sense of community is strengthened by having these bricks recognize alumni as partners, advocates and investors in the university.”

Alumni who participated in “Brick by Brick” are also members of the 1889 Society, which honors Elon’s most loyal donors.
