Philadelphia alumni make an impact in the community

Alumni packaged more than 10,000 pounds of food at the SHARE Food Program.

With the holidays approaching, the Philadelphia Alumni Chapter completed its annual fall service event at the SHARE Food Program on Saturday, Nov. 18.

Alumni partnered with Independence Blue Cross employees to sort and package more than 10,000 pounds of food for families in need. SHARE is dedicated to expanding community access to wholesome, affordable food.

Elon Alumni in Philadelphia has partnered with SHARE for the past several years to give back to the Greater Philadelphia community. Last year, SHARE brought 27 million pounds of emergency food relief to low-income Philadelphia residents facing hunger. The food packaged at SHARE is delivered to local churches and community centers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland to be distributed during the holiday season.

The alumni chapter continues to grow and expand their outreach in the Delaware Valley. Follow the chapter on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ElonAlumniPhilly/.
