Echoes Spring Dance Concert to feature innovative, original performances

The Performing Arts Department presents Echoes, the spring dance concert, with performances March 9-11.

The Performing Arts Department presents "Echoes," the spring dance concert, in McCrary Theatre on March 9 through 11.

The concert is directed by Lauren Winslow Kearns and highlights five original and dynamic dance pieces by faculty members Renay Aumiller, Chris Burnside, Jen Guy Metcalf, Matt Pardo and Sara Tourek. In addition to the faculty work, we are premiering a new work by by Summation Dance, a New York City-based dance company. Elon alumnia Allie Lochary is in her eighth season with the company.

Elon has the pleasure of premiering a lost work of seminal 20th century choreographer Anna Sokolow . Elon dance students have experienced a slice of dance history, both theoretically and experientially.

"Echoes" also features lighting design by Bill Webb, costume design by Karl Green, sound design by Michael Smith and technical direction by J.P. Mullican. Elon dance students are performing at high technical and expressive levels. Two faculty members are even performing in the show. Come to the concert to find out who!

"Echoes" will be performed March 9 and 10 with evening performances at 7:30 p.m. and March 10 and March 11 with matinee performances at 2:00 p.m.

Reserved Seating and admission by ticket only. Tickets $13 for general public; free with valid Elon ID. Reservations can be made through the box office Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and one hour prior to each performance. Call 336-278-5610 for more information.
