Research by Elon faculty, students and alumni featured at technology conference for teacher educators

Research from three School of Education faculty, four current students and one alum was presented at the Society for Information Technology in Teacher Education Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.

The work of various Elon faculty, students, and an alum was presented at the Society for Information Technology in Teacher Education (SITE) Annual Conference held March 26-30, 2018, in Washington, D.C. Elon University was the only institution to have undergraduate researchers as contributing authors for multiple presentations at this year’s SITE conference.

The presentations included the following:

“Opportunities and Challenges of Using Technology to Teach for Global Readiness in the Global Read Aloud.”  – Jeffrey Carpenter, associate professor and director of Teaching Fellows, Sydney Weiss ’18 and Julie Justice, assistant professor.

“Exploring How and Why Educators Use Pinterest.“ – Jeffrey Carpenter, Amanda Cassaday ’18 and Stefania Monti ’18.

“Advice Seeking and Giving in the Reddit r/Teachers Online Space.” – Jeffrey Carpenter, Connor J. McDade ’14 and Samantha Childers ’18.

“Expanding Professional Learning Networks through an Institutional Twitter Hashtag.” – Jeffrey Carpenter and Assistant Professor Scott Morrison.

“Exploring the Education Twitter Hashtag Landscape.” – Jeffrey Carpenter, Scott Morrison, Tania Tani and Julie Keane, Participate.

“Twitter + Voxer: Educators’ Complementary Uses of Multiple Social Media.” – Jeffrey Carpenter and Tim Green, California State University Fullerton.
