The Washington, D.C. alumni chapter hosted their annual professional development event in May with a panel of Elon alumni entrepreneurs
The theme of this year’s Washington, D.C. alumni chapter’s professional development took on the spirit of entrepreneurship within the local D.C. area alumni community.
The event hosted three Elon alumni who successfully started their own businesses. They spoke about their paths, challenges, and successes that they experienced while growing their businesses.
Anna Rice ’17, who is the Washington, D.C. alumni engagement officer, had positive feedback about the event. “The DC Alumni Chapter’s professional development event was one to remember,” Rice said. “With a great turnout and inspiring speakers, the crowd left with a strong ‘can do spirit’ and desire to pursue their own entrepreneurial projects. The panelists were open and honest about the twists and turns associated with opening a business, but encouraged those in attendance by agreeing that the rewards of pursuing a passion and serving as their own boss are unparalleled. I am grateful that I was able to participate in this event.”
The Office of Alumni Engagement and the Washington, D.C. chapter offer a special thank you to the panelists and the chapter board members for their time. The panelists included:
