Francis Edward Su is the Benediktsson-Karwa Professor of Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, and past-president of the Mathematical Association of America. He researches geometric combinatorics and he has received multiple National Science Foundation research grants for his work.

Su also has a passion for teaching and popularizing mathematics. He received the 2001 Hasse Prize for expository writing from the Mathematical Association of America. and the 2013 Haimo Award for distinguished teaching. His book, “Mathematics for Human Flourishing,” will be published by Yale University Press in 2019.
