The Center for Engaged Learning hosted the first summer meeting of the 2018-2020 research seminar on Capstone Experiences, June 24-29, 2018.

The Center for Engaged Learning hosted the first summer meeting of the 2018-2020 research seminar on Capstone Experiences, June 24-29, 2018.

The seminar is led by Elon’s Caroline Ketcham, professor of exercise Science, and Tony Weaver, associate professor of sport management, as well as Jillian Kinzie of Indiana University. There are 21 participants in the seminar, including Elon’s Ketevan Kupatadze, senior lecturer in Spanish. Other participants represent a range of institution types in Australia, Canada, the U.S. and the United Kingdom.

At this first summer session, leaders facilitated the development of shared research questions for the participants related to capstone experiences as a high-impact practice. Multi-institutional research teams also planned their first year of data collection.

The research seminar will continue for the next two summers, as participants continue to collect and analyze data and share the implications of their research.
