The Richmond Alumni Chapter particpated in the the sixth annual Alumni Charity Challenge benefiting central Virginia's hunger-relief organization called FeedMore

On Sept. 12, VCU hosted its 6th annual Charity Challenge with participation from over 30 colleges and universities at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery in Richmond. Elon’s Richmond Alumni Chapter has made it a priority in recent years, including 2018, to have an active prescence at this successful, community-wide event.

According to the Charity Challenge website, the annual event has collected over 40 tons of canned goods over the last five years, while involving over 30 colleges from Virginia and other states.

The colleges’ and universities’ alumni groups set up school-branded tents and strive to collect the most canned food by weight. This year, the alumni from the many institutions set a collective total goal of 75,000 pounds of canned goods for FeedMore.

According to the FeedMore website, The Central Virginia Food Bank serves to fight hunger and poverty in over 30 cities and counties in central Virginia.

The Elon alumni enjoyed the event and are proud to have made an impact with their community.
