D.C. alumni focus on fitness together

The Washington D.C. chapter partnered with David Magida '10, founder of Elevate Interval Fitness, to host a group class for alumni.

On Sept. 17, the D.C. Alumni Chapter hosted a new opportunity for their alumni at Elevate Interval Fitness.

The chapter gathered an energized group Elon graduates to particpate in a high-intensity fitness class. Furthermore, this amazing opportunity could not have been possible without the terrific partnership of Elevate’s founder, David Magida, who graduated from Elon in 2010 and owns multiple Elevate locations.

The D.C. chapter began working with Magida in May 2018 when he was selected to speak at the chapter’s annual professional development event’s panel discussion on entrepreneurship.

The event was coordinated by D.C. chapter board volunteer, Shelby McKay ’13. “The event was incredible. It was wonderful having the opportunity to support David and his business,” she said. “The class was high intensity and a great workout. From sprints, to dips, to TRX, we did it all in one hour.” McKay continued by saying, “I would encourage all Elon alumni in the DMV to visit one of his studios. The best part is that Elon alumni can attend their first class for free and receive a membership discount.

The Office of Alumni Engagement extends its apprecation to Magida for partnering with the D.C. Alumni Chapter and creating this positive event for the alumni group.
