The Charlotte Alumni Chapter hosted the annual Checkers outing with new perks to the group experience, including an on-ice suite.
For the past three years, Elon Alumni living in Charlotte, N.C., have been able to enjoy a Charlotte Checkers hockey game with other alumni, friends, and families with the opportunity provided by the Charlotte Alumni Chapter. Through the recent years, the event has proven to be widely successful with more than 80 and 110 guests respectively, taking advantage of the discounted rate and fun night out with alumni of all ages.
On Feb. 23, nearly 100 Elon alumni, guests, and families were able to enjoy another Checkers game with the Charlotte alumni chapter. However, this time the annual outing included new benefits to the game day experience. For instance, the group was able to enjoy the game in the comfort of an On-Ice Suite located right at the glass.
Through weeks of promotion, reminders and social media posts, the Charlotte alumni chapter board was able to sell-out the event a few days before the game. It was a great opportunity for alumni to mingle and network throughout the game, while enjoying hors d'oeuvres and drinks at the private bar. Old friends were able to re-connect and young alumni were able to meet some fellow alumni.
The Charlotte Checkers hockey event continues to prove itself as one of the chapter's most well-attended events, due to the superb value of the tickets and fun in-game experience of professional hockey.
