Paula Patch elected to top position in national organization for writing programs

Patch, senior lecturer in English and College Writing (ENG 110) Coordinator, has been elected vice president of the Council of Writing Program Administrators. She will become president of the organization in 2021.

Paula Patch, senior lecturer in English and College Writing (ENG 110) Coordinator, has been elected vice president of the Council of Writing Program Administrators, the national organization for writing programs and the faculty and staff who direct them. Members include directors of freshman composition, undergraduate writing, writing across the curriculum, and writing centers, as well as department chairs, division heads, and deans.

WPA publishes a journal, holds an annual workshop and conference, makes grants and awards, develops position statements, offers consulting and program evaluation, and fosters extensive discussions about college writing and writing programs.

Patch will serve as vice president for two years, 2019-21, and will then serve as president for two years, 2021-23, and past president for a final two years, 2023-25.
