The Department of Economics in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business inducted 13 students into the North Carolina Pi chapter of Omicron Delta Epsilon International Honor Society on April 26.

Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) recognizes students’ scholastic accomplishments and outstanding achievements in economics. Founded in 1963, the honor organization strives to establish closer ties between students and faculty in economics within and among colleges and universities.

Elon ODE membership requires students complete at least 12 credit hours in economics courses, attain a GPA of at least 3.25 overall and in economics courses, and make the study of economics their primary focus.

President Regina Mendoza ’19 organized and led the Pi chapter’s induction ceremony, which included a keynote address from Brandon Sheridan, assistant professor of economics and ODE faculty advisor. Sheridan spoke about his academic and professional path that led him to Elon.
