Jesse Akman appointed science research librarian

Akman will be the liaison librarian to the departments/programs of Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Exercise Science, Geographic Information System, Neuroscience, and Public Health, and the School of Health Sciences’ Doctor of Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant Studies programs.  

Jesse Akman has been appointed Belk Library's science research librarian. 

In this role, Akman will be the liaison librarian to the departments/programs of Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Exercise Science, Geographic Information System, Neuroscience, and Public Health, and the School of Health Sciences’ Doctor of Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant Studies programs.

Prior to coming to Elon, Akman received his master's degree in library science at the University of North Carolina School of Information and Library Science at Chapel Hill, where he also served as graduate research assistant in Clinical, Academic and Research Engagement at the UNC Health Sciences Library. He has also completed internships in the Research and Education Department at the Duke University Medical Center Library & Archives, and in the Special Collections and Archives at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
