Depro participates in economics and environmental quality seminar

Brooks Depro, assistant professor of economics, visited Bozeman, Montana, to participate in the summer student seminar.

Assistant Professor of Economics Brooks Depro participated in a summer student seminar on economics and environmental quality and presented one of his research projects in Bozeman, Montana.

As part of the program, Depro observed multiple presentations and discussions and facilitated a student discussion group about wetland conservation on a 13,000-acre ranch in Madison Valley, Montana. He will use the information in upcoming classes discussing topics in environmental economics.

Depro also presented and discussed results from the General Social Survey about college-age respondents attitudes about the environment and markets. He examined and discussed whether skepticism about markets differed by generation, gender, race, and income.

Depro hopes the survey results can help instructors better understand classroom perspectives students bring to class and help instructors design strategies for selecting course material and learning activities.
