Michael Jefferson '02, director of bands at Western Alamance High School, is one of 189 quarterfinalists for the 2020 GRAMMY Music Educator Award.
The Recording Academy and GRAMMY Museum recently announced quarterfinalists for the 2020 Music Educator Award.
Thousands of nominations from across the United States were narrowed down to 189 quarterfinalists. Among them is Elon alumnus Michael Jefferson '02 who earned a bachelor's degree in music education.
While studying at Elon, Jefferson was a proud member of the then newly formed Fire of the Carolinas. He went on to Ole Miss where he earned the Master of Music in Music Education in 2004.
Jefferson is now director of bands at Western Alamance High School.
Semifinalists for the 2020 GRAMMY Music Educator Award will be announced in September. Our good wishes and congratulations are with Michael during this exciting time.
