The Pendulum named Online Pacemaker finalist

The Pendulum's web site was recognized as a finalist in a national student media competition.

The Pendulum was selected as a 2013 finalist in the Associated Collegiate Press Online Pacemaker competition April 11. It’s the third time The Pendulum has been a finalist in this category, with the other finalist finishes coming in 2010 and 2011.

The ACP Online Pacemaker entries are judged by a panel of professionals with extensive online media experience. According to ACP, judges noted that the most successful sites had clean and accessible designs, excellent writing and editing, strong handling of breaking news and superb social integration.

The Pendulum was among 54 total finalists across all competition categories but among 11 finalists in the “Newspaper 5,001-10,000 Enrollment” category. More than 270 schools of all sizes entered the contest. Winners will be announced at the Associated Collegiate Press/College Media Association conference Oct. 26 in New Orleans. The Pacemaker is the highest honor ACP gives its members.
