The journal, which is the offical publication of Music Teachers National Association, published Shimron's review in the October/November 2013 issue.
Associate Professor Omri Shimron in the Department of Music wrote a review of Sergey Prokofiev Diaries, 1924-1933: Prodigal Son for the October/November 2013 edition of “American Music Teacher.”
The diaries were translated from Russian and annotated by Anthony Phillips. Prokofiev was one of the 20th century’s most significant classical composer-pianists, known for his ballets, solo and orchestral music, including the narrated children’s story Peter and the Wolf.
The book is the third and final volume of diaries recounting the composer’s life and professional activities outside Russia in the years leading up to his eventual return to the USSR, where he remained until his death in 1953.
