College Consensus ranks Elon among the nation's top universities

The 2019 ranking places Elon #68 among nearly 1,100 four-year colleges and universities, based on aggregate scores of student reviews and the leading college ranking publications.

College Consensus, a new approach to college quality measurement, ranks Elon University #68 in the nation and #5 in North Carolina. The organization arrives at its rankings by combining the results of “all the most reputable college ranking publishers and thousands of real student reviews from around the web."

Elon’s national ranking of #68 is based on Elon’s evaluation in college rankings by U.S. News & World Report, the Wall Street Journal and Wallethub, along with student reviews posted on Niche, Unigo, My Plan, Cappex and Students Review. According to College Consensus, "The top universities ranking is the real deal – the ranking of the best colleges nationwide. Regardless of size, location, form, or classification, these are the colleges and universities that have the best schools ranking based on publisher and student ratings. It’s not mixing apples and oranges – it’s crunching the numbers, pure and simple, to see which colleges the experts admire, and which ones the students love. "

College Consensus provides this description of Elon's experiential approach to teaching and learning: 

A variety of enriching intellectual and research opportunities are available to students through the university’s many programs and Elon’s numerous academic centers advance the work of faculty and students in a range of disciplines. Through these academic programs, Elon’s students are able to gain opportunities that challenge them in a number of areas including international study, undergraduate research, scholarly publication and collegiate competitions. More than 70% of students participate in at least one international study experience and often combine these trips with internships, research or service.
