Meet Elon’s newest employees

Carolyn K. DeFrancesco, Director of Planned Giving

Carolyn comes to Elon from Greensboro College. A native of Manchester, Conn., she is married to Martin DeFrancesco and has four children, Maria, 23, Anna, 21, Marty, 19, and Olivia, 16. She also has a Poodle called Rosie. In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys hiking, knitting, traveling, reading and spending time at the beach.

Kate Dempsey, Director of Operations for Women’s Basketball

Kate has a business in economics degree from Wofford College. Before joining Elon’s staff, she worked for Presbyterian College. She has two dogs, a yellow Labrador called Sugar and a black Labrador called Wilson. In her spare time, Kate enjoys doing CrossFit, fishing and spending time with friends.

Willie E. Mitchell, Sanitation and Recycling Driver

Willie comes to Elon from the City of Burlington. He and wife Lisa have two dogs, Blue and Snowy. In his spare time, Willie enjoys playing horseshoes and billiards and going fishing.

Amanda Robinson, Coordinator of Regional Alumni Engagement

Amanda has a degree in international business from Xavier University and an MBA from Loyola University, where she worked in the alumni office. In her spare time, Amanda likes reading, cooking, biking and kayaking.

  • MarQuita Barker, associate director of residence life, and husband Robert welcomed daughter Isley Madison on June 19.
  • Clay Stevenson, lecturer of music technology, and wife Angie welcomed son Rayne Edward on June 20. He joins older sister Macy.
  • Hobie Howe, application technologies programmer/analyst, and wife Kristen welcomed son Harrison Holt Howe on June 20.
  • Anthony Bennett, assistant director in campus technology support, and wife Laura welcomed son Grayson Kirk on June 26.
