Matt Belanger '05 wins third Emmy Award

The School of Communications grad was honored for a story he produced for WGAL-TV in Lancaster, Penn.

Matt Belanger ’05 received an Emmy Award Sept. 22 from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for a story he produced on welfare fraud in Pennsylvania. Belanger is WGAL-TV’s government reporter and he received this award in the politics/government category of the annual competition.

This is Belanger’s third Emmy Award and his second at WGAL-TV. He previously earned an Emmy for his work at KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Belanger is a member of Elon’s Young Alumni Council and was the first recipient of Elon’s D’Angelo Family Scholarship, which is awarded annually to a broadcast communications major in the School of Communications.
