The series, which premiered Sept. 17, follows surgeon Grace Devlin as she juggles her hospital duties with protecting her brother from the mob.

In an episode aired Nov. 19, McPhillips played Paige Wilson, a 25-year-old woman who gets shot during a mob gun battle and plays a key part in a plot twist revealed towards the end of the episode.

A graduate of Elon’s music theater program, McPhillips has worked as an actress, writer and producer in Chicago since completing her degree. She has appeared in TV shows, commercials, short films, dance and musical theater. She is currently working on the production of a feature-length film about fellow Montgomery, Ala., native Zelda Fitzgerald, the wife of author F. Scott Fitzgerald.

A short film she produced and starred in, “Fitting,” was featured earlier this year in a “Females in Film” screening series hosted by Women in Film’s Chicago Chapter.
