Nancy Midgette, in conjunction with the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources, has significantly revised and updated the NCDCR's publications on the state's roles in World War I and World War II.
The titles were originally published by Sarah McCulloh Lemmon in the 1960s. Midgette has extensively updated and expanded these out-of-print works, and researched and wrote a new chapter that addresses the interwar period. The new single-volume work is entitled North Carolina and the Two World Wars. Midgette and Lemmon, who is deceased, share authorship.
