Lavender Graduation for LGBTQIA Students May 19

Lavender Graduation is a ceremony held by Elon's LGBTQ Coordinator to congratulate and celebrate LGBTQIA undergraduate seniors and graduate students who graduated in December 2012 or will graduate in May 2013.

On May 19 at 4 p.m. in the Isabella Cannon Room in the Center for the Arts we will hold a Lavender Graduation ceremony for all interested LGBTQIA graduates of the last year–undergrad or grad, we want to throw you a party! Participants will receive a rainbow tassel that they can choose to wear at graduation, and a reception will follow the ceremony.

Everyone is welcome! You do not need to be an LGBTQIA leader or extensively involved with LGBTQIA issues on campus to be a part of Lavender Graduation. It will be a relatively informal event, and we hope to have students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parents all attend the ceremony. Bring any guests with you that you’d like to have celebrate with us.

If you are interested, please email lgbtq@elon.edu to request a participant form and return it by Friday, May 3rd. All inquiries are kept confidential.
