Raghu Tadepalli, dean of Elon’s Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, is the subject of a feature story in the April 5 edition of the Triad Business Journal. Writer Matt Evans talked with Tadepalli about his decision to come to Elon from Babson University, the unique advantages of Elon’s undergraduate programs, his views on entrepreneurship and his background in running family businesses in his home country of India.

Tadepalli discussed his work in overhauling Babson’s MBA curriculum and what he learned in the process:

“The importance of working very closely with the business community to incorporate their needs into the curriculum. For instance, we got feedback that MBA programs don’t talk enough about governments and institutions, which are very important for business, so we shifted an economics course into one we called ‘managing at the crossroads’ about understanding the economy’s intersections with the world of government and financial institutions.”

Tadepalli said he is working to develop additional graduate programs in business at Elon. “I want us to develop ‘Four plus one’ programs such as an M.S. in business analytics and an M.A. in international business that would be seamlessly integrated with an undergraduate degree,” Tadepalli said.
