David Morrow named an ABA Business Law Fellow

Elon alumnus David Morrow II ’07, L’10 will serve on national committees of the American Bar Association as part of the highly competitive two-year fellowship.

A regulatory attorney in the Washington, D.C. office of BuckleySandler LLP, Morrow assists clients in the financial services industry, primarily in litigation, regulatory and compliance matters.

As an American Bar Association (ABA) Business Law Fellow, Morrow will serve on substantive and administrative committees for the Business Law Section. Additionally, the Fellowship will provide complete funding to attend six Business Law Section Meetings, including the August 2013 ABA Annual Meeting in San Francisco, Calif.

The mission of the Business Law Section of the ABA, which Morrow will advance as an ABA Business Law Fellow, is, “to serve the public, the profession and the Section by furthering the development and improvement of business law, educating Section members in business law and related professional responsibilities, and helping Section members to serve their clients competently, efficiently and professionally.”

In April, Morrow was named a 2013 “Top 10 Under 10” alumnus of Elon University in recognition of his civic and professional leadership. While at Elon University School of Law, Morrow was a NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF) Earl Warren Scholar and Elon Scholar. During law school, he clerked for the Honorable Patricia Timmons-Goodson of the North Carolina Supreme Court and the Honorable James Wynn of the North Carolina Court of Appeals (now on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit). Following law school, Morrow worked for the Honorable Anna Blackburne-Rigsby of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. He received his B.A. from Elon University in 2007, where he was a Presidential Scholar and a NAACP LDF Herbert Lehman Scholar.

Morrow is the Community Service Committee Chair for the Young Lawyers Division of the National Bar Association (NBA) for 2012-13. As chair, he is responsible for the development of pro bono and philanthropic activities for NBA members nationwide. He is also the current treasurer of the Young Lawyers Division of the Washington Bar Association.
