Performing arts professor directs and choreographs summer productions

Performing Arts Professor Lynne Kurdziel-Formato has been keeping busy this summer.

She directed and choreographed the Danish Musical Academy Showcase productions of “Legally Blonde” and “Smokey Joe’s Café,” which opened June 23, 2013, in Fredericia, Denmark.

Then she hopped back across the pond to choreograph the “Sound of Music” for Artpark in Lewiston, N.Y., which features Elon grad Emilie Renier as Maria Von Trapp and current Elon BFA music theatre majors Tessa Mossey (Liesl), Zane Phillips (Rolf), Jessica Riloff (Luisa) and John Barsoian (ensemble). It opened July 11, 2013.

Currectly, Kurdziel-Formato is in Copenhagen directing and choreographing the remount of Disney’s Aladdin, which will have a limited run at the acclaimed Royal Opera House from July 19 through August 20, 2013.

Beginning July 30, Lynne will teach master classes, including a theatre dance Intensive for the Dance Masters of America National Teachers’ Training School.
