R. Lee Farmer '70 recognized by N.C. State Bar

The Caswell County attorney was one of 12 honorees recognized this summer with the 2013 N.C. State Bar Citizen Lawyer Awards.

The awards recognize lawyers who provide exemplary public service to their communities. Honorees include elected and appointed government officials, coaches, mentors and voluntary leaders of nonprofit, civic and community organizations.

Farmer graduated from Elon in 1970 with a degree in political science. He has been practicing law in Caswell County since graduating from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1973.

A longtime state bar councilor, Farmer has served as attorney for the Town of Yanceyville and Caswell County. He is past chair of the Piedmont Triad Chambers of Commerce and has served as president of the Caswell County Chamber of Commerce, Piedmont Community College Foundation, N.C. County Attorneys Association, N.C. Municipal Attorneys Association and Caswell County Midget Football League.
