'Belk Cribs' video shares details of library resources

The promotional video was filmed by Teaching and Learning Technologies last fall as a fun way to teach students about the people and products available to assist them in Belk Library.

Elon University’s Belk Library and Teaching and Learning Technologies collaborated over the fall semester to create the library’s new promotional video “Belk Cribs.”

The video follows a fictional college student, Cody, who believes that Elon University Belk Library is his “crib.” Modeled after the MTV “Cribs” show, Cody takes viewers on a tour of the library to show where he studies, where he gets research and writing help, where he enjoys his DVD and music collection, where he buys coffee through a machine that accepts Phoenix Cash, and where he finds assistance from his Personal Librarian.

He also shows a hidden treasure—the Archives and Special Collections.

This collaboration was made possible by staff and students including Ryan Witt (Video Producer), Lynne Bisko (Outreach Librarian), Katie Nash (Special Collections Librarian and Archivist), and a number of Elon students who are listed below.
