Spring semester at Elon University is always such an exciting time on campus. From signature events such as Spring Convocation to campus traditions such as Elon Day, it seems that there is always something special happening. This spring we also have the honor of welcoming Dr. Connie Ledoux Book back to campus as she begins her tenure as the ninth president of Elon University.
Elon presents a broad offering of academic and special programs every semester. The cultural calendar provides a month by month overview of musical and theatrical performances, guest and faculty lectures, religious and ethnic observances, recitals, art exhibitions, special entertainment and other events. Take a peek at what is on the cultural calendar for the spring semester!
On March 13, the worldwide Elon community will come together for the fifth annual Elon Day. Last year our community contributed 4,299 gifts and $1,075,025 to support students, scholarships, athletics and faculty and staff. We held 42 events with 3,640 attendees on campus and around the world, and secured three new student scholarships. This year we hope to continue that success by meeting all of our challenges and making gifts that will impact Elon students for years to come.
Elon is preparing to hold its 128th Commencement ceremony on May 19. In his new role as Elon’s president emeritus, Leo M. Lambert will deliver the Commencement address. Beloved by students, parents and alumni alike, Dr. Lambert has made an enormous impact on Elon over the past two decades. His extensive record of accomplishments and devotion to the university illustrates why he is one of the nation’s finest academic leaders and why Elon has been so successful during his tenure. Be sure to visit our Commencement website regarding activities, scheduling and the rain plan.
