The Visiting Artist Program

Yearly, the Art Department solicits proposals for small group and solo exhibitions. Out of approximately 200 applications, we choose 4-5 visiting artists per year whose work is in dialogue with contemporary practices and ideas. We specifically seek out artists who frame conversations about contemporary definitions of art, materiality, or process for our students. Visiting artists are asked to interact with Elon Art students via critiques, conversations, and studio workshops. Gallery 406 also hosts opening receptions and formal gallery talks for the larger campus community.
