No Limits in the French- and Spanish-Speaking Worlds
Elon University, Elon, North Carolina
Saturday, September 23, 2017
This one-day conference will examine perspectives on traversing physical or metaphorical limits or boundaries (geographical, national, social, identity, educational, etc.) in the French- and Spanish- Speaking Worlds. The poster session, however, will be open to all languages and cultures studied at Elon. Poster topics addressing any time period are welcome, and interdisciplinary works with a strong focus on the above themes are of interest. Analyses of multiple types of texts are encouraged: literary, cinematic, journalistic, etc.
While the poster presentation will explore the conference theme in various countries, the presentations will be in English.
Poster Submission Procedure
Students enrolled in a course in the Department of World Languages and Cultures at Elon are eligible to submit a poster abstract. All abstracts must include the words “Poster Session” at the top, as well as the title, name of the author, language/culture, and email contact information. For consideration, please submit an abstract of no more than 300 words in English by September 15th to the following address: UCLC@elon.edu
Students who are only presenting a poster and only attending the poster session are not required to pay the registration fee. For students attending the full day conference, the $30.00 fee covers coffee, pastry, lunch, and an afternoon social during the conference. The registration payment is required when registering online.
