2020 Elon Microfinance Challenge
The Elon Microfinance Initiative is partnering with the Department of Economics to host a data analytics consulting competition. Students will gain exposure to high demand, real-world consulting skills and practical experience working with a client organization.
Student teams of three will be given the challenge after spring break and will have 3 weeks to analyze proprietary data for a real non-profit client that provides microfinance to Ugandan Refugees. Data will consist of participant information that will be used to assess the impact of this microfinance initiative. Teams will use their skills to analyze the data and make a formal presentation to the client on April 16, 2020 in Richard W. Sankey Hall.
Teams will present their analysis and recommendations to the client in a boardroom setting where the client will judge the teams on April 16.
First place: $300
Second place: $150
