Designed for professional filmmakers, the RED Scarlet-W DSMC2 cinema camera delivers up to 5K resolution and superior cinematic imagery. The School of Communications has two RED Scarlet-W cameras available to students who are currently enrolled in or have previously completed CTA 3560 Film & Television Aesthetics, CTA 4560 Advanced Narrative Production, or CTA 4970 BFA Thesis Project.

To reserve the camera, students must submit a proposal using the form below. The proposal should include a film treatment or project summary, script, shooting schedule that details when and where the shoot will take place, and a shot list or storyboard. This form must be submitted at least two weeks before the scheduled shoot date.

Students must also participate in a training workshop to learn how to properly manage and operate the camera on set. See the workshop schedule here.
