About the Club
The Premier Sport and Event Society (PSES) is a student-run organization that allows Sport Management (SPT) majors and minors to connect and network with fellow students, professors and industry professionals, and to put to use what they are learning in the classroom into practice through planning and participating in many different types of events. Whether the organization is hosting its own event, coordinating an event with another area organization, or attending a local game as a social event, you’re bound to have a great time, walk away learning something new, or meet someone you didn’t know beforehand.
Meet Our Current Executive Board Members
Sophie Kane, President
Hi, my name is Sophie Kane and I am excited to be the president of the Premier Sport and Event Society this year. I am a senior majoring in Sport and Event Management, with minors in Business Administration and Professional Sales. I love to travel, and spent last spring studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark. PSES has been a great way for me to get to know people in the SEM program outside of the classroom. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and meetings.
Hailey Winter, Vice President
Hi, everyone. My name is Hailey Winter, and I am the vice president of the Premier Sport and Event Society and a senior at Elon. I am majoring in Sport and Event Management, with minors in Business Administration and Professional Sales. I chose this major based on my love for sports, especially golf. Growing up, I have fond memories of playing with my dad and brother. Over the last three years, PSES has given me the opportunity to connect with people in the industry and learn about what is going on in the sports business world. I am excited to help grow the organization and make it known around campus.
Emmett Helmes, Marketing Coordinator
My name is Emmett Helmes and I am the marketing coordinator for the Premier Sport and Event Society. I am a senior, majoring in Marketing, with a minor in Sport and Event Management. One of my best experiences since arriving at Elon has been my interaction with the SEM faculty and not only how helpful they have been for me, but also the relationships I have built with them that go beyond the classroom. I think with the outstanding faculty like we have, there is no reason we should not have a student-led organization to complement that. I look forward to the year ahead and expect to accomplish great things.
Corey McDonough, Treasurer
My name is Corey McDonough and I am treasurer of the Premier Sport and Event Society this year. I am a junior pursuing a Finance major and Sport and Event Management minor. I am also involved in New Student Orientation as a returning orientation leader. Outside of school, I am active in all things golf related with career plans of working in professional golf management. I hope to see some returning faces to PSES this year and meet many new members as well.
Caroline O'Neil, Secretary
Hi, my name is Caroline and I am the secretary of the Premier Sport and Event Society for the 2016-17 academic year. I am a sophomore majoring in Marketing, with a minor in Sport and Event Management. PSES has helped me get to know the SEM faculty as well as other students in a fun setting outside of class. I look forward to a great year.
