Faculty Fellows

Elon University has developed a unique approach to support and advance engaged learning practices that span both curricular and co-curricular spaces. For these practices, Elon has created leadership roles – Faculty Fellows – held by full-time permanent teaching faculty who have professional interests and a desire to become campus leaders in these educational spaces. Elon University views the Faculty Fellow positions as significant leadership development opportunities.

Faculty Fellows are engaged in promoting the mission of the university by deepening the educational impact of university programs and initiatives centered in experiential learning. As a result, much of the work of the Faculty Fellows has the potential to inform practices across the university. Fellows work closely with the professional staff partners whose primary responsibilities are to run and deliver these programs. Many of these programs bridge Academic Affairs and Student Life in meaningful ways (i.e., Leadership, Community-Based Learning, Civic Engagement, Equity and Inclusion, etc.) and are important for the development of a diverse and thriving residential campus.
