Homecoming at Elon is a wonderful opportunity to see some familiar faces and meet new ones. Honors Homecoming is an annual event so please put it on your calendars! Homecoming 2019 is November 1-3.
Honors Peer Mentors
Every year, seasoned Honors Fellows are paired with incoming first years in a peer mentoring program. Mentor-mentee pairs will meet to discuss the transition to college, course registration, and more. The Honors program also schedules bonding events, such as scavenger hunts and trivia nights, to further encourage these mentor-mentee relationships.
Turkey and Italy Blogs
Both Turkey and Italy have been cultural crossroads for millennia. This Honors Fellows course open to first year students uses city and landscape as classroom, encouraging students to explore one of these two countries as a site of historical and religious significance and to investigate the contemporary relevance of the region to East and West. Read the recent student blogs for a glimpse into what past students have learned at sites such as the Hagia Sophia, ancient cisterns, the Grand Bazaar, Theodosian Walls, the ruins of Ephesus in Turkey, and St. Peters Basilica and the Vatican, the Roman Coliseum, The Valley of Temples in Sicily, and the canals of Venice in Italy.
