Major Declaration Pause

We are on a major declaration processing pause from Monday, October 14, 2024 until the week of October 28, 2024. The purpose of this pause is to not have a student’s advisor change while having planned to work with one advisor and then switched to another during the heavy season of registration advising.

Students can locate their current advisor by viewing MyProgress in OnTrack. They can also access the Advising tab. This tab is available when viewing their class schedule. The Advising tab allows students and advisors to leave notes related to academic planning. Alerts are sent via email when a message is left for one of the parties.

The original deadline (still noted below) for all major declaration processing was Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

Major Declaration

All students enter Elon University as undeclared even if they have identified a major path. New transfer students may declare their major at the start of their time at Elon University. New first-year students must wait to declare their major until the end of their first semester on-campus.

Before declaring your major for the first time or updating your major(s) and minor(s), please review our Major Declaration FAQs. These can be found on the left-hand navigator.

Fall 2024 Major Declaration Deadline
