Remote-Only Learning Option (Main Campus/LSB Graduate Students)

Students choosing remote-only learning may need to withdraw from or select different courses when choosing the remote-only learning option, since at this time, not all courses can be offered remotely. Upon approval, it is the responsibility of the student to communicate arrangements with professors. Please read the following options and details of the page in its entirety carefully.

  • Students who wish to submit a request for remote-only learning due to a disability or health-related reasons should follow the process detailed below.

Requests based on Disability- or Health-Related Accommodations (undergraduate and graduate students):

Students with documented disabilities or other health-related accommodations may request to engage in remote-only instruction for Spring 2021 by submitting a request using the process below.

Please take the following steps to get started with a request for remote-only learning based upon a disability- or health-related concern:

If you are a RETURNING student who is registered with disabilities resources, needing to make a request for a fully online semester, based on a disability- or personal health-related concern, please do the following:

  1. Log-in to your Accommodate account.
  2. Create a “Supplemental” request.
  3. In your submission, provide the appropriate information regarding your request and attach any additional documentation to support your request for remote-only learning. Students without immediate access to documentation can later email their documentation to disabilities@elon.edu or have it faxed to 336-278-6514.

If you are an INCOMING student OR NEW to disabilities resources, needing to make a request for a fully online semester, based on a disability or personal health-related concern, please do the following:

  1. Follow this link to create an Accommodate Account.
  2. On the form, provide the appropriate information regarding your request(s) and attach the necessary documentation to support your request for remote-only learning and any other accommodations. Students without immediate access to documentation can later email their documentation to disabilities@elon.edu or have it faxed to 336-278-6514.

-Important Considerations-

Housing: Students engaging in remote learning may not be eligible to live in on-campus housing, unless approved through an accommodation request with Disabilities Resources (336-278-6568 | disabilities@elon.edu). Students approved for remote learning may have their housing assignment cancelled for the Spring semester.
