Research/Creative Interests
I am broadly interested in researching writing beyond the university in the professional, public, and personal spheres–particularly the writing practices of college alumni–to better understand the increasingly multimedia nature of writing in response to new composing technologies, including Generative AI multimedia composing platforms. I am also interested in guiding embedded workplace writing research to better understand the writing practices of specific industries.
What types of “data” do you commonly use?
I feel most comfortable with qualitative data, employing open coding to develop coding schemes of discursive data. However, I often employ mixed methods to attain macro-level quantitative data to triangulate with micro-level qualitative data.
What types of collaborations are you open to?
Students, staff, and faculty.
