The Undergraduate Research program offers grants-in-aid to support undergraduate research projects. Awards generally are made in amounts up to $500. Research grants may support undergraduate research in any field. They are intended to enable students, individually or in groups, to perform research they otherwise would not have means to do.
The Undergraduate Research Program offers support to students incurring expenses while traveling to professional meetings and conferences. This support is intended to provide students with the opportunity to become actively involved in a professional organization as they pursue graduate studies or other postgraduate plans.
Mentor Development Grants
The undergraduate research program recognizes that high-quality undergraduate research experiences require high-quality mentoring. As mentioned in the Elon Teacher-Scholar Statement, mentoring is a prominent component of what we do as faculty members.
SURF Symposium Grants
The undergraduate research program embraces the domains and goals of the Elon Core Curriculum: inquiry; knowledge; and communication. Supporting mentored scholarship also affirms Elon University’s centrality of the arts and sciences and aligns with University’s Mission Statement.
